On behalf of everyone at Barnet WIN, we would like to express our appreciation and thanks for the time and effort made by you last Wednesday evening in bringing the ancient Hebrew Scrolls to our function and explaining to us all about them with such a depth of knowledge and love for your subject. It is not only interesting but also heartening to learn that in the past there was a strong cultural interchange and heritage between Judaism and Islam, and we can all but hope that this situation will in the fullness of time occur once more. It is to advantage of us all.

The International exhibit from the UK which is right in the centre really rocked. This was a truly world class experience. Walking among it and seeing the ancient Qurans, coins, and scientific tools really made a big impression, especially on my kids. I teared up just looking at all of this.

Exhibition Islam was the highlight of Islam Exhibition SA 2009. Over and above the 66 cubicles of the bigger exhibition, Exhibition Islam took up 574 m2 and was undoubtedly the core of Islam Expo SA 2009. Their display on Islam, housed priceless manuscripts including Qur’ans, Bibles and Torahs as well as Islamic Coins, Artefacts and information on Biology, Astronomy, Egyptology, Architecture and Mathematics within the Qur’an and this proved to be very interesting and fascinating to visitors of all walks of life.

At the Opening Ceremony Minister Laluma Xingwana, National Minister of Arts and Culture, praised the Exhibition Islam Team for their magnificent attention to historical and artistic detail and found the Exhibition Islam Display to be necessary and important in bringing people of different religious and cultural backgrounds, together.

The Consul General of the Chinese Embassy was so surprised to see the Qur’an translated into Chinese and was fascinated to realise what various verses of the Qur’an meant. Upon leaving the Exhibition Islam area, visitors could purchase books and these were sold out by the second day of the exhibition, another indication of the popularity of what was on offer at the Exhibition Islam area at Islam Expo SA 2009.

This is just the beginning of a valuable partnership between Exhibition Islam and Islam Expo SA.

Guildhall Museum (Rochester)

Exhibition Islam was displayed at the Guildhall Museum, Rochester, in October 2008. The exhibition and supporting programme of seminars, discussions and educational activities spread over two sites, gave a large number of visitors a valuable insight into the many different facets of Islamic culture and beliefs.

The exhibition and launch event conference highlighted the linkages between Islam and the other great world religions giving an important multi-faith and multi-cultural dimension to the message of the exhibition. The exhibition was an important 'showcase' event for the local and regional Islamic community.

The organisers of Exhibition Islam are to be congratulated for the hard work and great enthusiasm that they invested in the organisation of the exhibition. A wide range of literature was made available to visitors to reinforce the educational content of the exhibition.

The most significant outcome of the exhibition was the way in which it brought different local faith communities together to promote mutual respect, tolerance and understanding.
